Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4M VFD fault codes

What all 15 Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4M VFD fault codes mean, in plain words, with a risk grade for each. These come from the manufacturer's own manual. The fix for each one is in WERCS Diagnose.

CodeWhat it meansRisk
F003F003 Power Loss
The drive stopped because it detected excessive voltage ripple from a lost incoming power phase.
YELLOW
F004F004 UnderVoltage
The drive shut down because its internal voltage fell below the minimum required operating level.
YELLOW
F005F005 OverVoltage
The drive stopped the motor because its internal voltage exceeded the maximum safe value.
YELLOW
F006F006 Motor Stalled
The drive stopped because it was unable to accelerate the motor without exceeding its current limit.
YELLOW
F007F007 Motor Overload
The drive stopped the motor because an excessive load triggered the internal electronic overload protection.
YELLOW
F008F008 Heatsink OvrTmp
The drive stopped because its internal heatsink temperature exceeded the maximum allowed value.
YELLOW
F012F012 HW OverCurrent
The drive shut down because the output current exceeded the internal hardware limit.
YELLOW
F013F013 Ground Fault
The drive stopped the motor because it detected a current path to earth ground at the output terminals.
RED
F038F038 Phase U to Gnd
The drive shut down because it detected a phase to ground fault on the U phase going to the motor.
RED
F041F041 Phase UV Short
The drive stopped because it detected excessive current from a short circuit between the U and V output terminals.
RED
F063F063 SW OverCurrent
The drive stopped the motor because the output current exceeded the programmed software trip limit.
YELLOW
F064F064 Drive Overload
The drive stopped because the motor load exceeded the maximum time and current ratings of the drive.
YELLOW
F070F070 Power Unit
The drive stopped operating because it detected a failure in its internal power section.
YELLOW
F081F081 Comm Loss
The drive stopped because the communication port lost its connection to the control network.
YELLOW
F100F100 Parameter Checksum
The calculated parameter checksum does not match the board checksum, which stops the drive from operating.
